Audit and exports
Content owner: Quote Control product. Last reviewed: 29 August 2026.
Use Administration → Audit to inspect material product and administration actions. Audit history is append-only: Quote Control adds events but users cannot edit or delete them through the application.
Read audit history
Section titled “Read audit history”The newest events appear first.
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| When | Event time in the business timezone configured under Company settings |
| Action | Material operation that was recorded |
| Actor | User who performed the action, or System for a system operation |
| Actor ID | Stable technical user identifier included in the CSV export |
| Record type | Kind of record affected |
| Record ID | Stable technical identifier for that record |
Choose Load older events to continue into earlier history. Loading another page does not change the records.
Filter events
Section titled “Filter events”Use any combination of:
- Record type to find a kind of record;
- Action to find an operation; and
- Actor to find events by a named user.
Filters match partial text. Clear a field to remove that part of the filter.
Export the filtered audit history
Section titled “Export the filtered audit history”- Apply the required Record type, Action and Actor filters.
- Review the matching events.
- Choose Export CSV.
- Store the downloaded
quote-control-audit.csvaccording to the company’s data-handling rules.
The CSV contains every audit event matching the current filters, including older matching events that were not yet loaded on screen.
Export company data
Section titled “Export company data”The company-wide ZIP export and filtered audit CSV are different products:
| Export | Contains | Does not do |
|---|---|---|
| Export CSV | Every audit row matching the current Record type, Action and Actor filters | Export company records or documents |
| Export company data | A private ZIP snapshot of structured company and workflow records plus retained documents | Import data, recreate the application or restore hosted resources |
Choose Export company data for the company-wide ZIP. Its manifest lists each included file with its byte size and SHA-256 checksum so an authorised recipient can verify the archive. It excludes sessions, password hashes, integration credentials, Project research and product feedback.
CSV cells that begin like spreadsheet formulas are neutralized before quoting. Keep that protection in place when opening or transforming an exported CSV.
The company export is broader than the filtered audit CSV. Once database capacity admits the request, Quote Control adds a requested audit action before archive work begins, including when that later work fails or is cancelled. If database capacity is exhausted, the request fails before archive work and cannot add an event. Quote Control attempts to add generated only after server-side archive streaming completes. This action is not confirmation that the browser saved the download. Treat the ZIP as private company data and move it only through an approved secure channel.
Effect on existing work
Section titled “Effect on existing work”Audit search, pagination and exports are read-only operations. They do not change company settings, quotations, users or historical documents. Requesting a company export adds audit history; it does not remove the exported data from Quote Control.
